Cheyenne (Cheyenne Frontier Days Old West Museum) -- Join the CFD Old West Museum as we welcome the Paniolo Preservation Society and Parker Ranch Paniolos for demonstrations during Frontier Days, including storytelling, oral dance traditions, artisan crafts, arena action and more!

Celebrate the day that CFD Hall of Fame Inductee and Champion Roper of the Hawaiian Islands, Ikua Purdy, secured the 1908 title of World Champion Steer Roper at Cheyenne Frontier Days. This world-class exhibit will take the visitor back one hundred years to the time when was destinies were born and legends were made. The exhibit will focus on the impact that the 1908 Hawaiian Paniolos had on Cheyenne Frontier Days and the impact Cheyenne Frontier Days had on the 1908 Hawaiian Paniolos. Using popular media of the era, artifacts, educational interactives and oral and dance traditions of Hawaii, visitors will understand how the culture of the Paniolo was a natural fit for competition at Cheyenne Frontier Days, the events leading up to the rodeo, the competition itself and how their success has fostered legends.
